Gert-Jan Maasdam

Facilitator International Business Development

What I do

I create and lead successful international coalitions that impact water conservation and climate resilience.

About me

The global water sector needs to reach a tipping point, after which the much-needed changes and adoption of innovations can scale rapidly. Until this point is reached, pioneers in water technology struggle with economic viability and water damage-related problems increase exponentially.

My mission is to build winning coalitions that can make the difference to reach this tipping point faster.

I was an entrepreneur for three years, offering statically safe production environments for the electronics industry. After achieving market leadership in the Benelux, I led the integration of the company into a French family business and developed the combined company into a leading group for EU customers in the electronics industry.

I am an inspiring, positive and curious impact entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in innovation and business strategy within the global water and construction markets. I understand both the dynamics of large corporations and the daily reality of a scale-up or small business. The world is my home, and I enjoy getting the best out of people from different cultures.

I am curious about the possibilities and exponential impact of digital technology and have an international network of small and large companies.
