Initiator Generous Minds & Money

What I do

I support companies in developing a sustainable and healthy financing strategy for their business and connect them with impact financiers that are suitable for their current and future growth phases.

About me

Fueled by my 'source code' and higher purpose to create a better world, I founded Generous Minds where I align the power of impact-driven financiers, entrepreneurs and experts in a non-conventional entrepreneurial way.

As the initiator of Generous Minds, I noticed that more and more people in the most diverse functions wanted to contribute to a better world. But as individuals they were not able to gather enough power to bring about real change. That is why I founded Generous Minds in 2013, which has since grown into a Covestment Cooperation in Good Business. Within Generous Minds we bundle the forces of impact-driven entrepreneurs, financiers and experts, with the ambition to make lasting social and ecological impact, to leave the world in a better state than we found it.

Born on May 3, 1967, I grew up in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, in an entrepreneurial family. After high school, I fulfilled my military service as a volunteer with the Special Forces. After that I went to Antwerp and obtained both my BBA and MBA 'summa cum laude'. In 1993 I started my professional career in advertising at the well-known advertising agency PMSvW/Y&R. When I was offered the next step as a future CEO after a steep career, I resigned on 9-9-'99. Because I strongly felt that I could no longer resist my 'source code' and higher purpose to create a better world, which did not match the offered CEO opportunity. In 1999 I founded Great Opportunities, an independent consultancy firm specialised in brand innovation. From concept to implementation, I advised and guided companies in the field of innovation management. In 2009 I founded Generous Minds as a consultancy firm for Good Business. In 2011 I realised that with my legal entity as a 'Private Company' I was stuck in the old system and earned too much short-term money and made too little and unsustainable social impact. That is why I 'secluded myself' for half a year and developed the concept of Generous Minds as a global movement that challenges the 'old system' for a lasting impact. After another year of preparation, the Generous Minds Cooperative was founded on May 3, 2013. With the Generous Minds 10-pager as a 'blueprint', we developed Generous Minds as it is today.

Within Generous Minds I have different roles. One of them is chairman of the board.

As one of the 7 Master Minds who collectively steers us towards core tasks, I am responsible for expanding our Generous Money network of impact-driven financiers in the Netherlands and abroad. And further developing our unique Integrated Capital Financing approach, in which we support entrepreneurs with sustainable financial support.

At client level, I support entrepreneurs in my role as 'Producer of Good Money (PoGM)' by matching them with the ideal mix of impact-driven financiers, giving them the financial resources for their current and future growth phases. The client cases that bring out the best in me are often the most complex financing challenges, that are big and/or very risky. Entrepreneurial cases like Speaksee, United Repair Center, SolarDew, FieldFactors and Wavepiston to name a few.

On a client level, I support entrepreneurs in my role as 'Producer of Good Business (PoGB)', a trusted partner that connects the entrepreneur with Generous Minds experts, for their current and future organisational challenges. The entrepreneurs Thami Schweichler of United Repair Center, Jari Hazelebach of Speaksee and Karina Peña of FieldFactors have stolen my heart, all very professional and driven entrepreneurs with a great vision and resilience, dedicated to grow their business for the sake of a better world.

Besides being a professional warrior with a mission, in my private life I live happily in Amsterdam in my 'paradise' in the center of Amsterdam, together with my wife Sabine. Enjoying each other and nature as an amateur 'bird watcher'.

My name was originally going to be Frank. But because I was expected to die after being born 3 months prematurely, my parents decided to call me Ronald, so that their future son could still be called Frank. Frank is a thing of the past, I decided to stay ;-)
